Unfortunately this year I can’t be with my mum today for Mother’s Day which just so happens to be the day before my sister’s birthday this year. So I’m missing out on 2 special days which is pretty crap, but it’s not the end of the world, why? well I have my own little family and Emily will be with her mummy and daddy for my first Mother’s Day today which will be nice.
What is Mothering Sunday?
Mothering Sunday is a Christian celebration, which we Brits celebrate exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday. It was originally a day for Christians to visit their ‘mother’ church. In recent years the occasion has changed for kids to honour their and give presents to their hardworking mums, and has lost a lot of its religious meaning.
