On Monday, a spur of the moment decision to go to the park, meet Clare and her daughter was one of the best things we’ve done this year. This year seems to have been a bit of a mad one and it’s only February. The weather hasn’t been the best and most of the playgroups on offer have been crazy busy. But Monday I needed to get out of the house. The sun was shining and although the wind was a little chilly, it seemed like a great idea to get out, stretch out legs and enjoy what Thanet has to offer.
Emily and I met Clare and Scarlet on the corner of Wyevale garden centre and strolled the 10 minutes up the road to the King VI park just off Dumpton Park Drive. I’ve not been here before but have often spoken about with family and friends and I’m pleased I came. We walked for hours, enjoying the stunning coastline here in Thanet. We walked to Broadstairs, had a pot of tea whilst relaxing and walked back to a Ramsgate. Overall we walked about 9km (5.5 miles). We were so lucky as the weather since hasn’t been all that great.
Minus the mud, it was a lovely afternoon out. Emily enjoyed it, Scarlet as well and Clare and I both had achy legs when we finished, but it was a well-needed walk. And who can deny the stunning views that we’re so lucky to have here in Ramsgate and Broadstairs.
I’m hoping, we’ll, we’re hoping to start walking and exploring the beautiful outside that we have more often, weather permitting of course, ideally twice a week but we’ll see. It will be great for Emily to explore and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that we are so lucky to live in and Scarlet too, once she starts walking. You can’t beat fresh air, beautiful scenery, fabulous weather and to top it all off, it’s free! BONUS!
