Christmas Treat Box – Handmade Christmas Gifts

Christmas is for festive cheer, spreading the love and delicious edible gifts are the way forward this Christmas. Beyond the Christmas shopping that’s been done and dusted for a few weeks now, wrapped and awaiting the giving part, I thought a few friends could get edible homemade Christmas gifts rather than the usual standard presents. One of my friends fiancé is a little obsessed with my baking, which of course is a bonus, so the idea of giving a treat box of homemade baked goodies, seemed like the ideal gift. Besides, if the key to a person’s heart is through their stomach, these homemade treats should go down a treat.

What’s in the box?

Well, I’ve had to divide it up. Although there are serious Christmas food lovers who enjoy a Yule log and mince pies, there are some I know who detest one or the other. Also one recipient can’t eat chocolate, so most of what was included had to be ticked off too.

Each box had X amount of goodies in each. Enough, I hope, that would give a little satisfaction of yummy this festive season.

Being organised

I’ll admit I drove myself a little potty trying to organise these boxes. Originally the plan was a box by couple, then additional people and children. But one person liked one thing, the other didn’t so it made sense to split up each box to per person instead. Then deciding if children should be included if their parents got a box and who didn’t, it got a little intense last Tuesday morning. Four cups of tea and a rewritten list (after 8 drafted and scribbled out), I came to the conclusion who was getting what.

Getting Crafty

Amazon Prime has been my lifesaver this year for most things, and at Christmas. I bought the box the treats would be stored in, ribbon and tags on Prime. Lifesaver if I’m honest.

All of the above was decided on each persons individual tastes. Some had more of one item than others and all the children got a little homemade chocolate gift all to themselves.

I hope those who received their Christmas boxes liked them. Something a little different anyway!
