All of last year I gave so little into doing one of those diets, I’d try for a little bit then fail, so many times. This year, I vowed to stick at a diet and so far, it’s going well. I’ve got to say a few days over a week, actually feeling better in myself and seeing some noticeable results, really does make a difference.
But let’s get serious for a minute here. How many of you have ever set a crazy-ambitious New Year’s resolution?
Run a marathon?
Travel the world?
Stop smoking?
Become a vegan?
Yep, I’ve done that. Probably not the vegan thing, but yes, I’ve done it. I’ve said it for smoking and bailed out after a few days, but thankfully I don’t smoke anymore. I’ll be 3 years smoke free on the 20th April. And 9/10 of any New Years resolutions I’ve committed to over the years, I’ve lost track of that thought by the second or third week.
So this time, I’m actually committing to a resolution. Something that needs to be addressed, which often upsets me, my weight. One thing that needs to be settled though, before I write any further, is that I’m doing it for me. Not for Emily, Sam or anyone else, just me.
As I’m already a week in (I started a week late into the new year), I’m doing alright, actually better than alright. I’ve gotta say the not snacking part has been difficult, same with the not dipping into a little chocolate with a cuppa in the evening. It’s actually good to say I’ve not had chocolate for 14 days now, which is pretty awesome, don’t you think?
Over the next few months, I’ll admit my food blog, The Cinnamum, will be a little jam packed with recipes and meals bursting at the seams around the lower calorie spectrum, but I’ll still be posting some sweet treats and other recipes for those who aren’t sharing my weight loss journey.
Anyway, here’s to the new year, new me. 😉
