Afternoon Tea at The Grosvenor

A few weeks ago, I had afternoon tea at The Grosvenor on Park Lane and it was fabulous. Thanks to a very lovely client of mine, my birthday present last year was a Bottomless Champagne Afternoon Tea for two and after months of trying to organise a date that worked for all of us, Sunday 14th April was the day it finally happened. And it was wonderful.

The experience was unlimited champagne afternoon tea for two. We dined in the classic and elegant park room, which offers picturesque views of Hyde Park. We could host a special occasion with bottomless champagne flowing was facing on a selection of delicate finger sandwiches, warm scones and a delicious variety of cakes and pastries.

As someone who enjoys afternoon tea, this experience was like no other afternoon tea I’ve been to before. To say the overall experience was out of this world, it’s a bit of an understatement. All the staff, including our lovely waitress Georgia were polite, friendly, welcoming and attentive.

Thankfully there was no overindulging. From past afternoon tea experiences, I’ve often found there’s so many pastries, cakes and sandwiches on offer. Usually after one or two cakes, I’m full up, having to opt for takeout instead.

The delicious afternoon tea, also know as Anna’s Winter Afternoon Tea, had a fabulous selection of sandwiches, open sandwiches, scones and an assortment of perfect pastries.

On top of that, we had flowing champagne. To be honest, I think Kerry and I would’ve stayed forever if we had the chance.

The Grosvenor House is stunning. Of course it’s got a larger price tag of course being in one of the most stylish parts of London and across the road from Hyde Park. Standing on Park Lane, this is excellently located landmark hotel, perfect for Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, shopping on Oxford Street, and West End glamour.

I can’t fault one part of the day. We were constantly attended to, there was never a moment we were with champagne or sandwiches and if we wanted another flavour of tea, Georgia was on hand to advise what’s best and keep everything in tip top shape.

The Art Deco designs, stunning interiors and a piano playing man in the background made the experience even more idyllic.

It’s the ultimate in British elegance, the Park Room brings a distinguished Afternoon Tea experience to the 5-star Grosvenor House Hotel. With a contemporary design, the newly opened Park Room offers a tranquil setting to relax away from busy London life.

The Afternoon Tea is named after Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford who is understood to be responsible for starting the ritual of Afternoon Tea in the early 1800s.

Since opening its doors in 1929, this serene retreat has been frequented by royalty, celebrities and business leaders. Marble Arch Tube Station is a 6-minute walk away.

Afternoon Tea at The Grosvenor has won awards and it’s not surprising. 533 people have reviewed it as excellent on TripAdvisor, not to mention the 2,540 people who have reviewed the hotel itself with a 4.5 rating and the many, many other reviews worldwide.

If you haven’t been to Afternoon Tea at The Grosvenor, go. I’ll tell you it’s not cheap, but the experience is magical and you can’t fault it. Favoured by thousands including royals and celebrities, it’s an experience you’Lol never forget.
